04.05.05 frag future shop instead of each other
Last week, I went to Future Shop with a girlfriend from work, to buy microphone headsets for our Playstations. The idea was to hear each other’s cries of glee as we blew one another’s heads off on Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal online, later that evening. Simple enough.
We went to the computer section, and asked for USB-enabled headsets, explaining our purpose. The guy gave us one model, at 99$. I had planned on dropping 40$ tops on this.
We asked for another model and he didn’t have one. We asked if other Future Shops had any other model and he didn’t know, he said we’d have to call.
We went down to customer service and asked them to call other Future Shops. They asked us to go back to computers and ask the sales guy to call. When we did, he told us there weren’t any other models.
Disappointed, we headed out, pausing in the games section next to the computer section to have a look at the newest titles.
And that’s where we saw USB-enabled microphone headsets, exactly for the Playstation, for 39$.
Now I understand it’s not the guy’s department, but he could have at least directed us to the games department. As it was he gave us patently wrong information. And customer service was no help either.
The fragging would be particularly sweet that night.
