28.02.05 weekend roundup
It was supposed to be a weekend spent in the Big Apple, but it ended up being just as busy.
Friday night: dinner and DVD at Martine’s. Her beau made us some of his now-famous stone-baked pizzas. The conversation was so stimulating that we skipped the DVD altogether. My stomach hurt from laughing so hard. Also got to meet the new love in Martine’s life.
Saturday: played several hours of the stellar, the phenomenal, the positively tantric Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal (check out TV ad #1), then compensated for the sofa-spudness by joining a game of indoor ultimate at the last minute. Sure, this probably wasn’t the smartest move since I’d cancelled NYC because of my back, but I was going crazy for lack of exercise, and was about to start chewing Comet’s toys. Besides, Patrick said my secret was safe with him, so I should be okay. We got an ass-whuppin’, but I managed to score, and it did do wonders for my back: now my pecs and quads hurt more.
Sushi dinner with some cool geeks, then joined Marie-Chantale, Vincent, Toine and Eric (aka lightspeedboy?) at the nuit blanche. It wasn’t very major and I left early.
Sunday: hung out with Vincent, who was very gracious about the fact that Comet adopted his lap, on her gassiest day ever (again, I’m. so. sorry!). Then I watched the Oscars, and for my opinions on that, you might as well read Patrick’s first-in-French-then-in-English post on the topic. Again, he takes the words right out of my keyboard.
